In August 2024, utility-scale era of photo voltaic electrical energy averaged 63.1 gigawatthours between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. every day within the Decrease 48 states, 36% greater than for a similar hours in August 2023. Additions of photo voltaic producing capability outpaced different assets within the U.S. electrical energy sector in 2023and we anticipate this pattern to proceed through the end of 2024.

In August 2024, a complete of 107.4 gigawatts (GW) of photo voltaic electrical energy producing capability was working within the Decrease 48 states in contrast with 81.9 GW in August 2023, in accordance with our Preliminary Monthly Electric Generator Inventory.

Between August and December this 12 months, we anticipate that U.S. utility-scale builders will add 24 GW of photo voltaic electrical energy producing capability. Within the remaining 5 months of 2024, we anticipate new U.S. photo voltaic electrical energy producing capability will make up 63%, or almost two-thirds, of all new electrical energy producing capability to come back on-line in the US.

Three states accounted for nearly one-half of the utility-scale photo voltaic fleet in the US throughout August 2024: California (21.0 GW), Texas (18.8 GW), and Florida (9.7 GW).
