The Kia EV3 compact electrical SUV is the 57th automobile to earn the title of The Car of the Year in Denmark. It was adopted carefully by the Skoda Elroq in second place, and the Renault Scenic (which was named The Car of the Year in Europe within the spring) in third place.

That is the primary time within the 57-year historical past of the award that Kia has received the Danish title. Although, the Korean automobile model received Car of the Year in Europe in 2022 with the larger EV6.

Automotive Editor on the Association of Danish Motorists (FDM) Søren W. Rasmussen thinks the Kia EV3 is a worthy winner and a pure consultant of the progress of EVs proper now.

“Electric cars have now come down in price, and with a starting price of DKK 270,000 ($38,250), the Kia EV3 is in a price range where a large share of Danes are expected to buy a new electric car in the future. For that price, you get a very well-equipped car with a range of 435 km (270 miles), that can charge from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes. Overall, this makes it a real Danish car.”

This was the fifth 12 months in a row that an EV received the title of Automobile of the 12 months in Denmark, and the primary time ever that each one contestants have been totally electrical!

Automobile of the 12 months in Denmark is chosen by a jury of 20 motoring journalists. The distinguished award has been awarded yearly since 1969.

The factors got as follows:

  1. Kia EV3: 134 factors
  2. Skoda Elroq: 131 factors
  3. Renault Scenic: 120 factors
  4. Hyundai Inster: 75 factors
