On Might 14, the board of administrators of the Brazilian Nationwide Civil Aviation Company (ANAC) unanimously permitted a decision that regulates the management and compensation of CO₂ emissions on worldwide flights.

CORSIA, which in English means Carbon Offsetting and Discount Scheme for Worldwide Aviationis a program of the Worldwide Civil Aviation Group (ICAO) with the target of lowering and compensating CO₂ emissions from worldwide flights.
The decision defines the necessities for monitoring, reporting and verifying CO₂ emissions and for calculating the compensation obligations of air operators, with ANAC being liable for receiving carbon emissions information from air operators.
The air operator should monitor its CO2 emissions when it emits, in a calendar 12 months, an quantity exceeding ten thousand tons in worldwide flight phases, utilizing fixed-wing plane with a most licensed take-off weight above 5,700 kg.
Relating to the efficient compensation of emissions, they have to be accomplished straight by way of the Emission Models accepted by CORSIA. See doc under, in English “CORSIA Eligible Emissions Units”, March 2024 version.
