Members From Municipalities, Tribes, and Neighborhood-Primarily based Organizations Will Convene for Six Months To Study From Every Different and Consultants About Agrivoltaics, Residential Power Effectivity Applications, and Electrifying Municipal Fleets
The U.S. Division of Power (DOE) at this time introduced a brand new spherical of leaders from 45 entities that can collaborate on frequent clear power alternatives and challenges by means of the Clear Power to Communities (C2C) program’s peer-learning cohorts. These members—together with county and native governments, Tribes, community-based organizations, and utilities—will convene often from July to December 2024 to trade methods and finest practices, be taught in a collaborative atmosphere from one another and DOE’s nationwide laboratory specialists, and workshop their pathways to agrivoltaics implementation, residential power effectivity packages, or municipal fleet electrification.
“C2C’s peer-learning cohorts facilitate new networks and collaborations between communities across the country and enable them access to top clean energy experts from DOE’s national laboratories,” stated Jeff Marootian, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Power Effectivity and Renewable Power. “By collaborating and sharing successful plans with their peers, these new participants will gain ideas, tools, and confidence to accelerate their own clean energy transitions. We are excited for this new group to thrive in this program.”
“I am especially excited about the geographic diversity of the selected participants in this cycle,” stated Lauren Reichelt, C2C peer-learning cohort program supervisor. “Practitioners from across the United States recognize the value that peer exchange can bring to their clean energy work. Our team looks forward to connecting this diverse set of entities around their common interests and creating opportunities for them to learn from each other’s unique experiences.”
C2C’s peer-learning cohorts convene as much as 15 communities devoted to a single clear energy-related subject and connects them with instructional assets, case research, evaluation and modeling instruments, templates advert, trainings, and facilitated collaboration to allow accelerated clear power progress. That is the fourth spherical of C2C’s peer-learning cohorts. Previous cohorts have lined matters together with clear power financing; municipal constructing power effectivity and decarbonization; neighborhood engagement for power tasks; photo voltaic, storage and microgrids; and electrical automobile infrastructure planning.

Peer-learning cohorts is one in every of three technical help choices throughout the C2C program. Purposes for C2C’s multiyear in depth partnership are due on June 14, 2024and functions for three-month Knowledgeable Match providing are accepted on a rolling basis.
C2C is funded by DOE’s Workplace of Power Effectivity and Renewable Power and managed by the Nationwide Renewable Power Laboratory with assist from Argonne Nationwide Laboratory, Lawrence Berkeley Nationwide Laboratory, Oak Ridge Nationwide Laboratory, and Pacific Northwest Nationwide Laboratory. The World Assets Institute additionally helps C2C’s peer-learning cohorts.
